It’s everyone’s er almost everyone’s favorite time of year. Tax Time! For most, this is the time when Uncle Sam actually pays you instead of you paying him. While some people dread Tax Time I feel it’s a great time to sit down and put your new years plans into action! There are so many things you can do with your tax return to help you stay on track with your goals in 2015. You can put the money into a savings account for emergencies, you can make much-needed repairs to your cars, switch to lowest priced unlimited phone plans, or you can pay off one of those pesky bills that you just want to get off your back.

Last year the Hubs and I decided to take our Tax Return and use it to pay off his car instead of renovating our dated 1950’s bathroom. While I still cringe every time I think about the bathroom I enjoy the fact that we freed up almost $400 a month since we no longer have his car payment. This year we plan to repeat these efforts and use the money to pay off the balance on my car freeing up almost another $400 a month. Our total savings from being financially savvy.. $808/month! After this, I’m sure a newly renovated bathroom will be in my future.

If you’re just looking to cut back on bills this year, like maybe your cell phone bill, you can still use your tax return to help set you up for a great financial picture for the remainder of the year by switching to the Walmart Family Mobile Plan! Walmart Family Mobile, powered by T-Mobile, now has newly priced Unlimited Plans that are exceptional for individuals or families These plans are also great for your tech-savvy teens or for someone who needs to be constantly plugged in for business purposes.

Just think, your normal smartphone can cost you upwards of $200-$300 as well as lock youinto a two-year contract. With the Walmart Family Mobile Plan, you can pick up the ZTE ZMAX phablet (a phone tablet hybrid) for $179 and pay as you go!  Plans start as low as $29.88 a month and come with UNLIMITED Talk, Text, and Data on T-Mobiles Nationwide Network. For another $10 you can get 2.5GB of 4G LTE data instead of the 500MB that comes with the first plan mentioned. This is seriously one of the best deals I’ve ever seen as most prepaid plans can restrict your area of calling or give you a limited number of minutes. Do you have a working teen that you’re ready to make more financially responsible? You can gift them the phone and have them pay their own phone bills as the phone is only active as long as the account stays current, and let’s be real what’s a Teen without their phone?

Tax time is definitely not my favorite time of year. Yuck, I hate doing taxes, but it is nice to get some cash back. I was looking at that phone at Walmart. Do you like it? Is it too cumbersome to handle?

Stacie, it’s about as big as a iphone6 or maybe a tad bit shorter. Not cumbersome at all!

I don’t dread tax time or love it but I will love to pay off some bills, start my little garden, take up sewing and I will be planning some trips. I would love to buy a treadmill or some adjustable hand weights too but I might go with the latter.

My hubby and I switched to a cell phone service like this about a year ago. It is a great money saver for sure. My only issue is when it comes to data. I think we get about 3 gb or something so I have to take my wifi with me wherever I go. Can’t be caught without my internet connection…LOL!

Once I get all my business stuff together, and send it off to our CPA, then I’ll be excited about tax time LOL. I do love it though 🙂 This year, we plan on using a lot of our taxes to invest and save, and then pay down some of our bigger bills. We are definitely looking to be more financially savvy this year.

Tax time? Saving money and … my husband wants a car so we shall see.
Also, I have that phone. I really like it too. It’s a keeper and so are Walmart’s prices!

You really can’t beat those Walmart phone prices when it comes to saving money. We just paid off our car so I know exactly how you feel. It’s so awesome to have that extra financial freedom especially with two small children and living in an expense city like New York.

Sadly we won’t be getting one but I have made sure to stay on top of all of the tracking this year so I won’t be in tears with frustration as we file 🙂 #client
