We have all have seen the “no makeup” makeup tutorials on YouTube that use 30 different products and takes about an hour of your time. What if you don’t have that time, but you really do want to do a minimal makeup face? Here are some essential items for you to use in order to master the Five minute face.
Tinted moisturizer/BB Cream:-Tinted moisturizer can help to even skin tone, moisturize, control oil, and act as a primer. Use this as your first step in your makeup routine.
Set it with a Powder Foundation: If you have dry skin, be sure to use a tinted moisturizer or BB cream that will give you moisture so that the powder doesn’t dry your skin even more. If you have oily skin, use a bb cream that helps control oil.
Blush: If you wear foundation, you must wear blush. Using a foundation will make your face all one color and it looks unnatural. Just a little bit of blush will go a long way. To add a bit of color to your cheeks try Nars Cosmetics Taj Mahal Blush.
Eyebrow pencil: If your foundation and brows are done, you will look well put together without being overly done. Try to find a brow pencil that has a if your foundation and brows are done, you will look well put together without being overly done. Try to find a brow pencil that has a spoolie on the end so that it’ll help blend the brow pencil with your natural brow. Go for a brow pencil that is close to your brow hair color. Going too dark will make your brows look harsh. Going too light will make them look ashen.
Eyeliner: Whether going for a smoky look it a more natural look, your eyeliner is essential to your eye makeup routine. You can color your whole eyelid and smudge with your finger for a smoky look, or you can lightly line along the lash line for a softer, more natural look.
Mascara: Mascara makes a world of difference in a makeup routine. Opt for a curling mascara if you have straight lashes. If you have light colored (blonde) lashes, opt for a dark brown mascara. If your lashes are dark, go for the blackest black mascara you can find! My favorite Mascara is the Make Up For Ever Smokey Extravagant.
Lipgloss: as you’re walking out the door, slide on a lip color. If you use a lipstick, try one that’s sheer so that if you make a mistake, it’s not as noticeable. If you prefer a lip gloss, you can pretty much wear any color you’d like. I’m not talking about the liquid lipsticks that dry to a matte finish. I’m talking high shine gloss. Trust me, they’re more forgiving when in a rush. Try out the Clinique Chubby stick in Honey glow or Viva Glam VI.
Tools: the main tool you’d need for this look is a brush that can go from liquid to powder. I’d suggest going with a large duo fiber stippling brush like MAC’1 187 Brush. It’s big enough to get you face covered in record time! After doing your bb cream/tinted moisturizer, dry your brush on a paper towel and go straight into your powder. Once you’re done with the powder, go straight into your blush. You can use this brush for all 3!
