As a trained Scientist, I always think of things like a science experiment. I go through the scientific steps of forming a Hypothesis and then conducting test to see if I prove my Hypothesis right or wrong. Admittedly, I’m very self-conscious when it comes to my smile. I love coffee and teas, but I hate the stains they can leave behind So, when Colgate released their new Colgate® Optic White® Express White Toothpaste that promises whiter teeth in just three days* with just brushing I decided to put it to the test.
I started off by forming a Hypothesis: The Colgate® Optic White® Express White Toothpaste will whiten my teeth in just three days*. I then set off to test this hypothesis by brushing my teeth morning and evening using the toothpaste and documenting my results before and after. Now a good experiment would have a set of controls in place like say a set of teeth that get brushed with a brand of toothpaste that doesn’t contain the unique ingredient of Hydrogen Peroxide like the Colgate® Optic White® Express White Toothpaste does. Hydrogen Peroxide is a professionally recommended ingredient that in combination increases the speed of the whitening. While I could have snagged a pair of teeth from the Medical School lab I figured that they’d probably notice and so I left well enough alone.
The Colgate® Optic White® Express White Toothpaste is less hassle than other whitening systems as all you have to do is just brush your teeth. It also contains two times more of the professionally recommended whitening ingredient (vs. Optic White Sparkling Mint TP).It even comes in different sizes including a travel size. This is great if you’re going to be on the road and you want to make sure your teeth are showing their true colors, er I mean pearly whites.
So let’s look at the results of the experiment shall we? After brushing my teeth for three days* using the Colgate® Optic White® Express White Toothpaste do they appear whiter to you? I’ll let you be the judge here. While they were never super yellow they definitely could have used the pick me up. Purchase the Colgate® Optic White® Express White Toothpaste at your local Walmart. I found it on a display in one of the main aisle.
