For many people, the bedroom is just a place to sleep, read a book, or maybe get away to watch a TV show in privacy. As I’ve gotten older I’ve realized that the Bedroom has become more than just a room I use to sleep. It’s become my own private getaway where I can go and relax and release the thoughts and stress for the day. Since I consider my bedroom to be such a sacred place I don’t even allow a TV in the room as I feel it can take away from the tranquil environment that I’ve worked to create. Spring is a great time to refresh your bedroom and to break away from the dull and gloomy feeling of winter. Here are some quick tips to help you refresh your bedroom for Spring.
Change your Bedding: Bedding plays a huge role in how the room feels. Since it’s Spring you want to go for brighter more inviting colors that coordinate well with the current color palette of the room. The color palette in my bedroom falls into the Blue Gray family and so I decided to go with a White coverlet with light blue and burlap accent pillows to help tie it together with the feel of the room.
Another way I refresh my room for the seasons is by updating floral arrangements to represent the different seasons. What I love about Spring and Summer is that it gives you a great opportunity to bring in fresh flowers instead of fake ones. Imagine walking in from a hard days work to the scent of your favorite floral fragrance permeating throughout the room. I love to go to the local farmers market every Saturday to replace the ones from the week before.
If you can’t get fresh flowers weekly another way to refresh your room for Spring is by adding baskets of Potpourri around the room. Baskets are a great way to add extra design detail to a simple dresser. I love to fill my baskets with scent Potpourri that has a color scheme that blends nicely with the room. Besides it being inexpensive, another great thing about Potpourri is the fact that it’s great for those who may be sensitive to too much fragrance. While it will add a calming fragrance to your room it’s not as overpowering as flowers can sometimes be, and the clean up is much easier as you don’t have to worry about changing the water or picking up dropped petals.
Another great inexpensive way to refresh your room for spring is by adding a Reed Diffuser. Reed Diffusers are great in that they come in all different types of fragrances and last a really long time making them super budget friendly! I love to place reed diffusers by my bed so that when I’m lying down the fragrance will help lull me to sleep. Usually, my reed diffusers are filled with calming scents like Lavender, Lemon or Jasmine. If you don’t want to go through the trouble of getting fresh flowers, using potpourri, or getting a reed diffuser you can always add calm soothing scents that help refresh your bedroom by using Suavitel® Fragrance Pearls™.Suavitel® Fragrance Pearls™ are an in-wash scent booster that gives clothes a fresh aroma for weeks! Lavender scented Suavitel® Fragrance Pearls™ are my favorite for washing bedding and towels as the scent is so calming and relaxing. The Suavitel® Fragrance Pearls™ have 5x’s longer lasting fragrance which is sure to refresh and soothe providing you with a peaceful sleep or a relaxing period of writing or reading in your favorite spot in the bedroom
