I’ve been against subscription boxes since Day one. Mainly beauty subscription products as I found that the samples they gave you weren’t worth the subscription box price. Lately, I’ve been doing a lot more with my natural hair, and with my staple products slowly running out the need to find a replacement was urgent as I vowed that I would never order from my staple company ever again in my life. To aid in my search, I decided to go against everything I said and subscribe to the Curlkit box for the month of May.
Now I will begin to eat crow… I was pleasantly surprised when my box arrived yesterday. The box was so full that it the lid wouldn’t fit all the way on top. This was a good sign as I was worried that the box would be filled with more samples than it would full-size products. This box was a SheaMoisture Takeover and actually featured four full size products from the brand. I’ll admit at first I had mixed feelings about this. It was great that the products were full size, but I was hoping I’d be able to try out a brand I’d never used before, however, this was one line from SheaMoisture that I had not tried so and I often times don’t see it in the store so my disappointment quickly went away.
Pricing: The pricing on the products ranges from $7.99 to $11.99 in price. Altogether the products total around $48 and if you were to grab them during a SheaMoisture BOGO they’d come out to $36.97. The price of the box was only $20 I ended up saving almost $17! I mentioned in an earlier post that SheaMoisture also has a Pro line that retails for $19.99, though I doubt we’ll ever see those products in a curl box. You can read all about that line (here).
The Jamaican Black Castor Oil line promotes a healthy scalp, reduces breakage, and aids in healthy hair growth.
