Hey, Everyone! I’m back with another car review and this time it features the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport SE AWC. I received this car during one of my more busier week/weekends so the hubs and I weren’t able to jet set around like we were in the last two reviews, but I promise I poked, pushed and testing everything out so that I could give you all the tea.
First off lets talk price. The 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander MSRP is around $24K and with added extra bells and whistles can run you around $29K. The particular vehicle I was driving came in the color of Labrador Black Pearl which is a black paint with an iridescent glitter throughout. It’s not something you’d notice from far away but the girly side of me was all “oohh pretty” when I saw it in the sun. Interior wise this vehicle is extra comfy. Almost too comfy is that makes sense. Sitting in the drivers seat reminded me of sitting in a large oversized recliner. I’m pretty sure my husband would’ve found this to be quite appealing.
I think I was more excited about the Touring Package which includes your navigation system, premium sound system, and the amazing panoramic glass roof with LED illumination. I’m so sad I didn’t catch a picture of the panoramic glass roof lit up at night but it makes the ambience pretty nice!
While we weren’t able to go on an adventure I still monitored how much fuel this baby used as I made multiple trips to the lab due to a series of experiments with time points. The 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is said to get about 27MPG combined (24 city/ 30 Highway). I honestly felt like I could have driven this car for two weeks without having to fill up and I live 13miles away from the lab. It was nice to have an SUV that wasn’t a gas guzzler and could help me keep some money in my pockets. There was also tons of storage which was an extra added bonus, because I don’t like cars that force me to have a minimalist lifestyle when driving.
Pros: Rain Sensing Windshield Wipers
Heated driver and front passenger seats
One touch start/stop engine switch
Rear Backup Camera
Satellite Radio
Cons:
The main thing I did not really like about this vehicle were the oversized leather seats. Yep, I’m pretty picky about the way my car seats feel to me. I also felt that the backup camera could have had a better quality picture. I parallel park daily so I really rely on the backup camera to get me into those questionable spaces. I felt that this camera sorta fell short and often skewed my view a bit rather than being helpful.
Overall I think this car is a great pick for someone who wants an affordable SUV that won’t make you feel like you’ve been squeezed inside. Plus for the price it offers some of the same bells and whistles that you would find on more expensive vehicles.
