As you all already know I’m very spontaneous with my hair styles. My goal has always been to grow out the top part of my hair really long and keep the sides tapered. It’s something that I’ve been working towards for a while and part of the reason why I’ve had to fire my last hair stylist. SHE KEPT CUTTING TO MUCH OFF THE TOP! I’d go in for a trim, and she’d take off about an inch more. Fast forward to about two weeks ago when I saw a picture of a gorgeous woman on Instagram. I didn’t know who she was, but I did know that I’d found my hair muse. Pair that with inspiration from an old college colleague and bam I was going to get a haircut.
Since my hair still isn’t as long as I’d like it to be I’ve been toying around with styling options that I can wear on those “bad” hair days as well as protective styles that will take me through these upcoming colder months. Options are often slim when it comes to tapered natural hair and I didn’t want something that would require me to add any extra hair with my own. Surprisingly I came up with this hairstyle while watching TV. I’ve dubbed it “The Tiara”.
This hairstyle is super easy and can be done in less than 10 minutes. Check out the Youtube video below to see how I achieved my “Crown” hair style.
