Eyebrows have made their way to the top of the list of features one must focus on when it comes to beat one’s face. According to Social Media, it’s almost a cardinal sin to walk out of the house without doing something to your eyebrows. When it comes to my brows, I love to give them a bit of enhancement without making them look overly sculpted. I love a good natural looking brow and what I love more than that is a great brow product. There are a couple of requirements that a good eyebrow product must meet before I deem it worthy enough to add to my collection. 1. It has to have a good price point vs the amount of product you get. 2. It must be easy to use.
The HOURGLASS Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil is the latest innovation from HOURGLASS Cosmetics. Since HOURGLASS is mostly known for it’s amazing highlighters and illuminators it piqued my intrigue to see that they had a line of brow pencils as well. The HOURGLASS Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil delivers 0.014oz of product for $32. This price is on the higher end when it comes to eyebrow pencils, but I attribute that mostly to the gorgeous packaging and the fact that it’s dual ended. There nine shades in this collection ranging from Platinum Blonde to Natural Black.
The HOURGLASS Brow Sculpting Pencil delivers the product with a slight twist of the bottom. What makes the pencil so unique is that it has a triangular-shaped tip that combines the benefits of a powder, pencil and a wax which is like the trifecta of brow products. I liked the idea of the tip being angled as it allowed for ease when creating my brow line. I did find that the pencil itself had to be primed, as in I had to run it across my hand a couple of times to soften it up a bit, but after that it was good to go.
I received two colors of the pencil to try, Warm Brunette and Dark Brunette, and I found that Dark Brunette worked well with my eyebrow color. I like that this product is buildable as my technique for brows is to do short quick strokes that mimic eyebrow hair. This product is very easy to work with and I loved the fact that it was dual ended and equipped with a brush so that I could blend and tame any brows that tried to stray out of place.
