Why I’m No Longer Afraid of the Colder Months.

If there is one thing I live for it’s the little bit of me time that I get alone, just having an at home spa day. I love soaking in a hot tub with the smell of different oils and fragrances permeating around me and in infusing into my skin. I love the way my skin smells and feels afterward. The problem is I can’t have a spa day every day and usually after I get out the shower I’m running to find the nearest bit of moisture to put on my skin before it dries and the itch takes over.

Battling dry itchy skin and eczema is hard, but it gets 100x’s worse when the cold weather sets in and there is absolutely no moisture in the air. During the winter, I stock up on products that I belive will help to quell the urge to scratch, but they never really seem to be enough.

For those of us who suffer from dry itchy skin, the colder months can feel like a curse. One year I felt like my skin was being pricked with needles every time I got out of the shower. It caused me to be absolutely terrified of winter the following year. I almost considered not bathing or doing what we like to call a “wash up” where I’d just bath in the sink. I’m sure my husband wouldn’t have been too happy with those options. This year I’m going into the fall and winter loaded with three products from the Curél® Itch Defense® Line. Instead of using my usual body wash, I’ll be replacing it with the Curél® Itch Defense® Body Wash. This body wash is different from other body washes in that it’s a soap-free formula with gentle cleansers and conditioners that’s clinically proven to stop dry itchy skin before it starts.

After my shower, I’ll follow up with the Curél® Itch Defense® Lotion and the Curél® Itch Defense® Instant Smoothing Moisturizing Spray to lock the moisture in. I plan to use a combination of both because the spray allows me to apply moisture areas that I can’t reach like my back. I feel confident that these products will do the trick as they’ve been approved by the National Eczema Association.

I did not realize that Curel did a specific problem called Itch Defense, but what a great idea. We have psoriasis in our family and totally agree that the winter months are usually the hardest to keep the problem under control. I will have to look out for this product next time Im at the shops as Curel is such a great brand, Im sure this product will be a great addition to my cabinet now that the weather is on the change.

This is one thing I don’t love about the Fall and Winter months- the cold weather and how dry my skin can get! I’ve found some tips over the years that tend to help! I’ve never tried these Curel products, but they sound like they’d be really effective at restoring the moisture levels of the skin! I’ll have to look for them the next time I’m at the store.

When the dry winter itch gets to be too much, I take oatmeal baths and use oatmeal lotion. It really helps to soothe my skin and relieve the itch. I will definitely be trying this curel itch defense because I have heard a lot of great things about it.

Curel is a great lotion for curing the winter dry skin. I had no idea that Curel makes a spray now as well as the lotion. I go through a lot of lotion with how much we travel my skin gets so dry.
