I get lots of questions about my skincare regimen. The truth is that I use tons of different products as I find what my skin likes and then I stick with it. I have very oily skin and if I’m not careful I find that it’s easily susceptible to breakouts. I always tell people that if you have great skin care regimen it helps to lessen the steps in your makeup routine as you’ve already created the perfect canvas. If you’re looking for a great skin care regimen, I advise you to check out Paula’s Choice.
Paula’s Choice is a skincare line was created over 20 years ago back in 1995. Since then the company has been cultivating skin care regimens to help users find products that fit perfectly for their skincare needs.
I’ve always been told that there are steps to a skin care regimen. You need products that are going to cleanse the skin, help to remove dead layers of skin by exfoliating, remove excess oil by toning and then add back moisture with a moisturizer. I had the opportunity to talk with a Paula’s Choice consultant that helped me put together a skincare regimen to address my oily skin and aging skin.
Cleanser: I was given the Paula’s Choice Resist Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser($18). It’s an oil control face wash that cuts through dirt and makeup to leave the skin clean soft and refreshed.
Exfoliant: Exfoliants are a great product to use as they help to smooth and brighten your skin. I was given two types of exfoliants. One which address my acne concerns and another that is a Pore refining treatment. The Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Salicylic Acid ($28) is made for all skin types. The 2% BHA helps to reduce pore sizes and builds collagen. The RESIST Daily Pore-Refining Treatment 2% BHA ($30) does the same as the first exfoliant except there is no Salicylic Acid. This is great to use when you’re not battling breakouts.
Moisturizer and Toner
My Paula’s Choice Skin Care Regimen came with two Moisturizers and a Toner. The RESIST Weightless Advanced Repairing Toner ($23) is a great product to use after cleansing as it can be very refreshing. The smoothing liquid builds collagen for firmer skin, reduces enlarged pores, and calms redness from breakouts, while also significantly improving skin texture and tone.
The RESIST Anti-aging Clear Skin Hydrator ($32) along with the Super-Light Daily Wrinkle Defense ($32) were sent to me as choices for a Moisturizer. The RESIST Anti-aging Clear Skin Hydrator is an exclusive complex of proven anti-wrinkle and skin-clearing ingredients that renew and restore your skin, making it look younger, even-toned, and fresh. It’s great for all skin types including those that are acne prone. The Super Light Daily Wrinkle Defense Moisturizer is designed for combination to oily skin that show signs of aging. The SPF protects your skin against the sun’s harmful rays as the potent antioxidants repair and stimulate collagen production for firmer skin.
Treatment:
The Paula’s Choice RESIST Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum ($36) paired with the RESIST C15 Super Booster ($48) is power couple that normalizes and brightens oily skin and reduces enlarged pores for smoother skin, without a slick-looking shine. The C15 super booster is great for applying to those stubborn scars that don’t want to fade.
As you can see this is a very extensive skin care regimen, but the great thing about it is that Paula’s Choice reps explained each product as well as how to use all the products.
