I’ve been telling you all about some of the great features found at Lenscrafters and so this weekend I decided to test out all those features in person by visiting my local LensCrafters store and having an eye exam. Scheduling my appointment was easy. I just went online, found a LensCrafters in my area and made the appointment. I even got a text reminder a couple of days beforehand to remind me about my appointment.
When I arrived at the store checking in was simple. While I was waiting to see the doctor I decided to check out some of the frames they had in stock. I already knew what I had in mind since I used the “My Look” feature on the LensCrafters website and was able to add some styles to my favorites folder.
My appointment was great and went smoothly. Since I had a busy day ahead of me I decided to bypass having my eyes dilated and opted for a retinal scan with the Optomap. The Optomap does a retinal scan in less than 5 minutes and doesn’t require you to dilate your eyes! Since my family has a history of glaucoma it’s important that have a retinal scan done every year to monitor my eye health. While the Doctor did notice that my nerves were slightly enlarged she made me feel very comfortable and explained to me how we’ll keep monitoring my eye health throughout the years for any signs of progression towards disease.
After the scan, we talked about what I wanted in lenses as well as contacts. As I have an intense phobia of anything coming close to my eyes (it’s a long story) I’m not a good candidate for contacts, but the Doctor did tell me about the new Dailies Contact Lenses which are designed for easy handling. You get a fresh pair every single day and there’s no cleaning or maintenance.
After I had my eye exam I went to pick out my frames. The staff at Lenscrafters were so helpful. I explained to them that I wanted a pair of frames with an exaggerated Cat Eye and they took me straight to the Miu Mius where I found several pair that fit this description. Of course, I had several frames in my basket so I used the Lenscrafters system that takes a photo of you in your top four frames. This is awesome because it allows you to really see how the glasses look and whether or not they fit your face.
I decided on these super cute gray framed Miu Miu fashion glasses in an exaggerated oval shape. An hour and some lunch later my frames were ready for me to take home! My husband was even surprised at how quickly everything went. Thanks to the all the online features LensCrafters made this appointment super enjoyable and easy.
