In full disclosure, it’s been a while since I’ve tried a drug store foundation. Actually, it’s been over a year since I stepped foot into a convenience store to pick up makeup period! It’s not because I don’t like drugstore makeup but has a lot to do with me cutting back on how much I spent on makeup though somehow I still managed to make VIB Rouge. So when I received a special delivery from Loreal last month I was super surprised to find it contained three out of twelve of the shades of their True Match Lumi Cushion foundation. The True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation is a little expensive on the drugstore side retailing at $16.99, but I found that it’s a great foundation and well worth the price.
Out of the three shades I was given I found that the shade that worked best for me was W8. W5.5 was too light and probably wouldn’t do well as a highlight, but C8 would make a great contour shade. The shades are formulated with Precise Match Technology so that it melds to match your skin tone. One of the main things that I loved about this foundation is that it comes with undertones in mind. Cool, Neutral and Warm. Another great thing that I loved was that it was buildable. The formula is sheer to medium so if you just want a light sorta skin tint look this is the perfect foundation. Though it came with an applicator I decided to use a brush instead so that I could blend it out easier. The foundation gives me a flawless look and I absolutely love how luminous it made my skin. Since it was so luminous I was a tad concerned with how well it would do with my oily skin. I was a bit oily by the end of the day, but I also didn’t prime with a mattifier so that may be the issue.
So how do you think the L’oreal Paris True Match Lumi Foundation looks on me? I’m seriously in love with it, and since it’s buildable will probably wear it throughout the warmer months.
