The other day I received a pleasant surprise in the mail in the form of the EssenceBeauty box. Now if you’re an avid reader of Being Melody then you know how I feel about Beauty Box’s or subscription boxes period. They can be hit or miss. Either you’re gonna get stuff you really love or you’re going to get a box full of unwanted samples. I wasn’t sure what to expect with the Essence Beauty Box but I was optimistic since it is a box curated specifically for Women of Color. At least, with this, box the good news is that we don’t have to worry about getting another tube of some random rose colored lipstick that’s just never gonna work.
The thing that shocked me most about the Essence Beauty Box was that it actually came with something I really needed, a full sized bottle of the Dark and Lovely LOC Soak It Up Oil Cocktail! There as also eyelashes, I mean who doesn’t love a good pair of lashes, lash glue, Iman lipgloss, Cover FX Mattifying cream, Colgate Optic White and a sample of the Colgate Optic white toothpaste. Out of the seven items in the box, three of which being full sized I could totally see myself definitely using five of the items.
Plans start at $15.00 per month, but if you choose to commit to an actual subscription it can cost you as low as $12.50 per month. The pricing isn’t bad at all considering you actually get some pretty good items. To subscribe to your own Essence Beauty Box you can sign up here.
