Must Have Red-Orange Lipsticks for Medium Brown Skin!

We all have that one signature color lipstick that we like to wear. For some is a bold and sexy red and for others, it’s a soft subtle nude. I always thought my go to color was red, and then I went on this stint where I was all about the nudes because who doesn’t love a good nude (see my favorites here). Now I still love a good nude, but after trying out the Sleek VIP Lipsticks I realized that I may have found my “spirit color”. It was almost like I didn’t choose the color the color just choose me. After doing a few more swatches on other newly released collections I realized that I had indeed found the perfect color for my complexion. Red-Orange!

Now we all know that not ever shade of lipstick is going to be exactly alike. The color payoff of a lipstick has a lot to do with its undertones.  Undertones can be range from pink to blue and not only do you need to pay attention to undertones in your lipstick, but it’s also important to know what type of undertones your skin has. I tried on four Red-Orange shades of lipstick from four different brands and I found that each one looked absolutely amazing paired with my warm undertoned skin. 

1. Nars Cosmetics Summer 2016 Color Collection Lip Cover in Do Not Disturb: $28. This particular lipstick was just launched and I’m already head over heels in love with its amazing pigmentation and coverage. It’s described as a vivid orange-red and unfortunately, Limited Edition so be sure to grab it right away! 
   
2. MAC Cosmetics Lady Danger: $17: Lady Danger has always been one of my all time favorite lipsticks from their collection. With a description like “vivid bright coral red” you can see why this shade is absolutely perfect for summer. It also comes in a matte formula which makes the color stand out even more!
3. Sleek makeUp VIP Lipstick in Flaunt It: $8.99 Flaunt It leans more orange than red which is probably why I love it so much. While this shade of lipstick compliments warm undertones very well it is not for the faint of heart. This warm inviting shade is one of the reasons why I fell in love with lipsticks in this color category!
4. Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipstick in Marigold: $25 Leaning more towards the red family this lipstick is perfect for those who want a brighter color but don’t want to commit to one as daring as the Sleek VIP Lipstick or the Nars Lip Cover.

I am certain there are several other shades of reddish-orange lipsticks that need to be added to my collection, but I think I’m ready to go into spring and summer with these four. If you saw a shade you liked be sure to shop the widgets below!
