This is a sponsored post on behalf of Pretty in My Pocket and Tria. Thank you for allowing me to share with you the brands I love.
I think my 30’s have been the absolute best years of my life. Granted I’m only two years in, but it’s been one amazing thing after another. Thirty is when I realized I didn’t have it all figured out, and I was finally able to admit that I was completely okay with that. My finances are amazing (besides me paying off a mountain of student loans), I’m back down to a healthy weight, and mentally I’m in a good space. Thirty is also the age I decided that I was going to focus really on my skin care. Did you know that in your 20’s you lose 1.5% of collagen every year? I should have started over ten years ago, but I fell for that phrase “Black don’t crack”, a phrase that is thrown around way too much without people realizing that it is in fact, a false truth! While, research has proven that African Americans, age at a slower rate than those with less melanin it does not mean that we don’t have to take care of our skin.
A couple of weeks ago I teamed up with several amazing bloggers to try out one of the latest devices in beauty. The Tria. The Tria Age-Defying Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser. The Tria Age-Defying Eye Wrinkle Correcting laser works by causing cellular disruption, which then activates the skin’s healing process promoting it to produce new elastin and collagen. The overall result is a new layer of smooth skin! Since I’m in my early thirties, the skin around my eyes doesn’t have deep wrinkles, but there are several fine lines that I’d like to see smoothed out.
Using the Tria is pretty simple. You just apply the Tria in a circular motion for one minute to the eye area. The Tria will vibrate when the treatment is over. Follow up each treatment with the Nourishing Eye Renewal cream which helps to hydrate the area. I must admit I like that the device was small and easy to use. It’s travel-friendly too so you can slide it into your carry on without worry about bulk. It also comes with a small plug for charging. Below I’ve shared with week by week recap o
Week 1:
My first treatment with the Tria was the worse. I was warned that it would feel like a rubber band snapping against my skin, but what I failed to take into account was the sensitivity of the area around my eye. I wasn’t able to make it through the full minute on the first or second day. By the third day, I finally gave myself a strong enough pep talk to make it through. After treatment and use of the eye cream, my eyes were very puffy and red which is to be expected.
Week 2:
I found that I was becoming adjusted to the feeling of the laser on my skin, but it still stings. However, I noticed that I was developing small punctate dark marks on my skin. The morning following treatment my eyes were very sore to the touch. It felt as if I had a very bad sunburn that would not go away.
Week 3:
The sensation from the laser has dulled to more an annoying poking as I’ve completely adjusted to the feeling. Dark marks are becoming worse, and the sunburn feeling is becoming more intense. I consulted with Tria Customer Service and was advised that my skin may be too sensitive to handle daily use and that switching to an every three-day regimen will still give me the same results as daily use would. I notice that while my eyes are sore to the touch, the area appears to be more supple and youthful.
Week 4:
After switching up to where I use the Tria every three days I noticed that the dark marks that were visible in my under eye area are starting to fade. While my skin is still sore after treatment, the pain is not as bad as it was the first three weeks.
Week 5:
I’m beginning to notice my under eye area appears to be darker than it was when I began the treatment.
Week 6:
Under eye area is still dark. I’ve started using the Glam Glow BrightMud Eye Treatment, which helps to reduce the appearance of dark circles under the eye. I use the Glamglow 2x’s a week.
Week 7:
Same as week 6
Final Results:
I used the Tria Age-Defying Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser for eight weeks and below is a picture of my final results. I didn’t see a dramatic change in the appearance of the area around my eye albeit I didn’t have a lot of lines or wrinkles to start off with. I did, however, notice a subtle reduction of visible fine lines as noticed from Week 3-8 (sorry about the before picture). The area also appears more youthful in my opinion and a bit more supple/hydrated. My results aren’t as dramatic as others, and this could be due to the fact that I had to switch to using the product every three days instead of daily.
While my results are super, impressive several of my other beauty blogger friends have had some amazing results. If you search the hashtag #primptriestria or scroll the links below. Trust me you will be blown away. I see this product being a great investment for women who are maybe in their late thirties. While I don’t have an alarming amount of fine lines and wrinkles yet, this is a tool I plan to keep my beauty arsenal so that I can stay one step ahead of the aging process.
