Boldness is not often a quality a woman would state as a requirement when listing her top must haves in a future mate. For me, however, I knew I needed a man that was strong enough to handle my intense personality. One that could be the yin to my yang, as well as one bold enough to stand up to me when I started getting a little carried away. I wasn’t looking for boldness in a sense that they’d go out and fight a bull or ran 10K’s or ToughMudders. I just wanted someone who could handle me, which in my mind was easy enough. Luckily for me, my husband was just the man to sweep me off my feet and I remember thinking after our first date “He’s the One”. Flash-forward eight years later and he’s still that same gentle giant that keeps me grounded.
Since I’ve teamed up with Listerine to #BringOutTheBold I’ve seen a lot of diversity when it comes to being bold and describing boldness. Sometimes we joke about who’s bold enough to hold the Listerine Ultra Clean in their mouths for the full 30 seconds. Usually, he wins, but that not all that makes my husband bold. My husband would probably describe boldness as doing whatever it takes to provide for and to protect his family He would say boldness is knowing when to stand up and when to step aside. You can feel this same boldness when using Listerine brand products as they give you the confidence you need to take on the day. Honestly, what makes our marriage so great is that in him I’ve found my biggest cheerleader. He’s been by my side throughout my journey to get a Ph.D. as well as to help nurture and manifest all the dreams I have for our future. I love him because he’s bold enough to allow me to be a Proverbs 31 wife in my own way.
