Summer has arrived, and as much as I hate to say it, I don’t have my capsule wardrobe ready for the season. I chose to utilize a capsule wardrobe this year because I needed to add as much simplicity to my life this year as possible. While I’ve loved every bit of it, I really didn’t think through how much losing weight would affect my capsule wardrobes moving forward. Since I have a very limited budget when it comes to purchasing clothing, I try to make sure that a majority of items from one season can transfer over to the next. Fortunately, and unfortunately, most of my Spring Wardrobe is now too large to use within my Summer Wardrobe leaving me with a bit of a conundrum.

As you probably noticed from my last post I am all about shades of blue for this season. I’m also in love with the fabric Chambray as it’s soft, breathable, and gives off a look of denim without being so heavy. To create this Monochromatic look I decided to pair this soft, breezy shirt with a pair of Levi’s I accidently purchased on a previous trip to the outlets. I decided not to exchange them for the correct size and kept them as my inspiration jeans. I’d try them on every month with the hopes that they’d fit only to find that my thighs just weren’t ready yet. This particular morning I was surprised to find that I’d lost enough to be able to comfortably wear them. This small success reminded me that sometimes all you need is a little patience and to stay the course and things will work out in your favor.
