I can’t believe it’s already August, more importantly, I can’t believe summer is almost over and I actually survived by barely purchasing anything new for the season. If you’ve been following our journey to become debt free over on the site Live Broke on Purpose then you know I’ve talked about being addicted to shopping and how that’s something I’ve been struggling hard to overcome. At the beginning of the summer, all I could think was that I needed a new summer handbag, but after going through my purse closet (which I’m slowing in the process of purging via my Poshmark Store) I realized I had great handbags that I could use. Two of which I’d never even worn. Seeing this taught me a valuable lesson.
In spite of it all, I have everything I need.
Transitioning to minimalism hasn’t been easy. Especially since I’m a recovering shopaholic, but remembering that I have everything I need is helping to curb my desires to get online and swipe my card. Plus shopping my closet has helped me to find some great hidden gems.
