Hey! Makeup Lovers, I’m a little late but today I’m sharing with you pictures and my thoughts on the MAC It’s a Strike Collection. This is a limited edition collection that launched on August 18th and the color story quickly made it one of my favorites. Fall is one of my favorite seasons because that’s when all the bold beautiful colors come out to play. The It’s a Strike Collection has some fun vibrant shades sprinkled throughout to give it a little balance but I’m gonna be honest with you I’m here for all things vampy.
[ad name=”In Content Responsive Ad”]This is a 28 piece collection and I received a few of the pieces below to share with you for review. Let’s start with the eyeshadows
Gutter Gal (off white gray matte) Join My League (Dark espresso matte) Bowl Out (midtone gray matte) Bowlarama (bright lime green satin) 300 Game (blackened cherry matte)
The shades below remind of eyeshadows found in the Kat Von D Shade + Light Eyeshadow Palette which is my go to palette when I travel. Though the shadows are a matte finish they feel silky when applied. There is good color payoff which is also builadble.
Bowlarama is one of the pops of color I mentioned that was sprinkled throughout. It also applied nice an even and I can see it being worked in play with the neutral shades. 300 Game was a disappointment while it’s a gorgeous shade it’s color payoff is super chalky. I feel with this shadow you would definitely need to put a primer underneath in order to really bring out it’s potential.
The Casual Color Lip and Cheek $23.00 remind me of MAC’s Cream Color Bases except I actually feel pretty comfortable using these. I love the idea of being able to use these on both the lips and cheeks. Both shades are buildable which is great so you can get the color payoff you want, but all I can think about is using Have a Lovely Day (neutral nude) on my cheeks and applying a bit of highlight on top to give myself this run way dewy look. Blind Score is a dirty reddish lilac which I’m sure will be a brown girls friends.
Seven lipsticks $17.00 were introduced in this collection with two being repromotes, two online exclusives and three shades that were actually new. Since I can never have too many red lipsticks I was happy to try out Perfect Score (deep red, matte) and Bowl Me Over ( deep burnt brown, matte).
Perfect Score is your basic red with blue undertones. MAC has several red lipsticks and this one to me doesn’t’ stand out as an absolute need. Bowl Me Over is a shade I don’t have in my collection. It reminded me of a cherry cola brown.

Bowl Me Over
Five CreamSheen Glasses $21.00 were introduced in this collection. I received King Pin and Right up my Alley for review. KingPin is described a deep chocolate mauve. You can see the mauve when swatched on the lips. I feel like this shade is a bit too dark for my taste but may look nice paired atop a lipstick. Right Up My Alley is described as a deep red. On the lips both creamsheen glasses were a little sheer for my taste. With both being gorgeous colors I was hoping for a bit more pigmentation without having to completely slather it on.
Overall I think this collection had some great shades especially within the eyeshadows. The Casual Color Lip and Cheeks are definitely my favorite from the bunch. The M.A.C. It’s a StriKe collection can be found at Macys, Nordstroms, as well as MACCOSMETICS.com
