Last week I received an epic package in the mail in the form of all the amazing beauty goodies from the Colour Riche collection that L’oreal released in stores recently (July 2016). If you’re into colour you’re definitely going to want to get into all this goodness. If you’re more of a neutral toned type of women, don’t fret there’s something here for you also!
The Colour Riche collection contains three lip palettes, eight eyeshadow palettes, along with an exclusive La Vie En Rose Lip Colour collection inspired by some of the brand’s most iconic spokeswomen.
Color Riche Pocket Palette
The L’oréal Colour Riche Pocket Palettes ($9.99) feature expertly curated shades that are designed to blend flawlessly with every skin tone. These are the brand’s first multi-color, multi-finish shadow palettes with each pocketing offering four unique shades in three different finishes. Like most compacts, these palettes come with instructions on the back for creating that perfect look. I do not have swatches for the blog but trust me these are some pretty nice eyeshadow palettes. They’re highly pigmented and blend easily. Plus they make the perfect shadows to throw in your bag for a weekend trip or to have on hand when you need a touch up at work.
Available Compacts in Order of Shown Below: Avenue De Roses, French Biscuit, Boudoir Charme, Silver Couture, Avant Garde Azure, Violet Amore, Haute Hazel, Blue Nuit (not shown)
Colour Riche La Palette Lip
The L’oréal Colour Riche La Palette Lip ($16.99), is the first of it’s kind for the L’oréal brand. In these palettes, you get multi-finish and multi-lip colour for a great price. No more carrying around 5-6 lipsticks of the same colour in your makeup bag or even forgetting that you own a particular color. Of course, I was immediately drawn to the Plum palette for it’s two gorgeous deep plum shades, but I could totally get down with the nudes as well.
Since these were lipstick palettes and not individual lipsticks I preserved my sanity and swatched these on my arm instead of doing full-face swatches like I usually do.
Colour Riche La Vie en Rose LipColour
L’oréal has come out with a few collections featuring the Colour Riche Lipsticks ($8.99). This go around it’s all about the pinks! Six custom pink shades were created to complement each of L’oréals most iconic spokeswomen. All the lipsticks are a matte formula but contain jojoba oil that actually helps give the lips a luxuriously creamy, soft feel. Of course, again, I’m a purple girl, so I was immediately drawn to J-Lo’s lip colour which looks like a deeper wine in the tube but swatched comes off as a deep rose.
Wear is about three-four hours before having to reapply which isn’t too bad. I didn’t find these lipsticks drying at all. I think the Jojoba oil really helps in that area. I’ve done full-face swatches of these lipsticks for you check out below.
All in all, I think this is a pretty great budget and travel-friendly collection. Now that I’m turnings towards more of a minimalist lifestyle I love the idea of utilizing more lipstick palettes than have tubes everywhere.
