I partnered with SkinCeuticals on this post.
When Alicia Keys announced her #nomakeupmovement the interwebs went bananas. Being immersed in the beauty world of every social media platform, I couldn’t escape the conversation. Some people were for it, and some people just couldn’t understand how she could give it all up completely. Quitely I was 100% for her stance. Don’t get me wrong I love a good highlight, and I will slay in a beautiful red lip, but this year I’ve been more heavily focused on my skin care.

Unless you follow my snapchat (@Being_Melody) or have seen posts where I show up without makeup you may not know that I have a very noticeable skin disorder/birthmark (no one is really sure what it is). Basically, I’ve been “covering up” ever since I was old enough to wear makeup. Makeup was my way of avoiding the stares and the whispers. If I covered up my skin disorder, I could blend in the room and feel perfectly normal without having to explain to someone how I didn’t forget to apply eyeshadow to my other eye.
Now that I’m focused on achieving more beautiful radiant skin I’ve been looking for products that are best suited to address my skincare concerns such as oiliness and hyperpigmentation as well and most importantly combat the signs of aging. Since there is only so much skincare I could do on my own at home this month, I decided to head over to About Face Skincare in Center City Philadephia to have a SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restorative Facial. During this facial, I was able to try out SkinCeuticals newest product and later take home for incorporation into my skincare routine the SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2.
The SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2 is an anti-aging cream that is formulated with the maximum amounts of pure ceramides (2%), natural cholesterol (4%), and fatty acids (2%). It’s normal that we tend to lose things as we age and unfortunately it’s usually stuff that we really need. With age lipid production declines, in turn, impacting barrier function and skins natural ability to repair itself. These ingredients help to improve the appearance of skin fullness, texture, and pore size, promote self-repair, as well as nourish the skin and help it improve the visual signs of accelerated aging.
My facial was heavenly, and my skin felt so hydrated and supple afterward that I didn’t want to wash my face at all later that evening. As I mentioned, I’ve been incorporating the Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2 into my skin care regimen and I can tell a real difference in how my skin feels and looks compared to my usual moisturizer. I feel like my skin looks more refreshed, brighter, and I even have a little glow going on. If you’re in the market for a new moisturizer, I seriously recommend you give this one a try, and since you know I’m all about self-care and the art of “treat yo self” be sure to check out About Face SkinCare and set up an appointment for a facial.
I am always looking for new products to add into my skin care routine! My skin is very sensitive and certainly requires a lot of care! That can be hard for this girl! Ha! This looks like a product that would fit into my routine well! I have to read more on it!
I have to say that I have been using all Skinceutical products since Jan 2016, their “Simply Clean” cleanser is the bomb. The Restore Lipids is quite expensive so I haven’t purchased it yet, but I did go to the website and just submitted an email asking to become a Brand Ambassador after reading your post… we’ll see what happens!
I am loving that more and more people are hopping on the no makeup wagon, especially celebrities! Over the last few months I’ve really started paying attention to my skin care routine, and what I’m putting on my body. Skinceutical looks like a great product!
This looks fantastic! I am always looking for new ways to hydrate my dry skin. Especially in the winter! I am going to have to look into this!
