While I’ve never really been big on the whole “pimping your planner” trend I can admit that an awesome planner and an equally good notebook were key to my success this year. Using a planner took some getting used to but once I started writing out my goals for the day I slowly started to see myself getting more done and big dreams of my start to come to fruition. It’s why I’ve stuck so close to the bible verse “Write the Vision” Habbukk 2:2. When you write down your goals and dreams you can’t help but want to put in the work to make them come true.

First up is the My Taught You Hustle Journal. I don’t think my current journal can go another year and so I’m ready to start 2017 off with a fresh new one. If you haven’t heard of Myleik Teele you’re definitely missing out. Not only is she the founder of Curlbox, but she’s constantly giving us inspiring content through her My Taught You website as well as her My Taught You PodCast
I also like to keep other journals like this The Master Plan Journal from Gift Boutique on hand. It’s great for jotting down notes on the goal and fits easily into my purses (I’m a big bag girl) so when inspiration hits me on the go I can write things down and not risk forgetting them.
When investing in a day planner pick up one that you know you’ll use. I need space to actually write out what’s going in my life. I really loved the Kate Spade Canning Agenda, but as my days started to get busier I needed more space. This is when I moved to the Day Designer What I love most about this planner is that there is a section in the front for you to write down your goals and how long you think it’s going to take for you to make it happen. Sometimes that section gave my anxiety and other times I was happily marking that I completed a goal month in advance. If you use it properly your Day Designer will be your biggest motivator.
While the Day Designer can be a bit on the expensive side you can use the ShopBop Bit Event sale to grab other items that will help you make 2017 a success. Since the more you buy the more you save you can grab some great things on your list for yourself and maybe a couple of your friends that you could gift for the holidays. The sale ends November 28th, Cyber Monday and there are practically no inclusions.
