When I set out to curate my ideal handbag closet my wallet hid in fear. This endeavor would cost me thousands of dollars if I didn’t play it smart. Since I’m not ever one to pay full price for fashion I knew that I could grab great finds by shopping at outlet stores. Most outlet stores are hit or miss when you’re shopping for one item in particular, however, if you’re patient and stay in the hunt you’re bound to snag exactly what you’re looking for! Off Saks Fifth Avenue opened their first outlet store in the Plymouth Meeting area last year and it took everything in me not to purchase every bag on my list in one swoop. When I found out another Saks Off Fifth Avenue would be opening up in the King of Prussia area (where the old Nordstrom Rack was) I was given a gift card to swing by ya know just in case there was another bag available from my coveted list.
I found the store to be set up a bit differently from the Plymouth Meeting store. It was much more spaced out which is great for someone who wants to shop until they drop but not be bogged down in searching through racks and racks of clothes. The handbags are to your left in front of the checkout counter as you walk in. What I liked about this section is that it was a lot more spaced out. There were big names designers like vintage Hermes, Prada, Moschino and Valentino, along with brands like Michael Kors, Coach and DVF.
If you’re looking your next pair of designer shoes no need to search the general shoe area. This particular location has a separate designer shoe area complete with couches for you to take our time and try on at your leisure. The general shoe area isn’t anything to scoff at either. So many shoes caught my eye that I had to keep reminding myself that I was building a capsule wardrobe.
Again, I’m building a capsule wardrobe so that’s probably the only thing that kept me from loading up clothes on my arm and heading to the fitting room. I fell in love with everything from Alice and Olivia and wanted to take home several pieces from 3.1 Phillip Lim. If you’re not into designers you can still shop until you drop. The Saks Fifth Avenue line has designer like pieces that will have you looking like a million bucks without spending a million bucks.
I ended up leaving the store empty handed as I wanted to wait for my inventory as I’m hoping to snag a Givenchy Antigona bag. If you’re in the King of Prussia area make sure you stop by Saks off Fifth and check it out.
