I am a snacker, and it’s gotten habitually worse now that I’m always working at a desk. You know how you feel the need to munch on something to keep your mind preoccupied while doing a mundane task. Yea, that’s me. Can I confess something to you guys? I also hide snacks from my husband. Before you give me the side eye I know I’m not the only one who hates sharing their meals. See, the issue is that once I share a snack with my husband, he takes that as his cue to eat the entire bag! Don’t let me put a snack down; he’ll see it, and eat it, only leaving me the crumbs so that he can say “what, there’s some left.” Yall the struggle is real. So I hide my snacks or bring them to work with me. Even when I bring my snacks to work I’m still failing because try as I may to make sure I keep healthy snacks like fruits, nuts, or even veggies with hummus around it can be hard, and usually, you don’t want the same old same old every single day. Then in an effort to satiate my cravings, I’ll reach for a candy bar or a bag of Dorito’s which know we aren’t doing anything for my waistline.
Plus the older I’m getting, the harder and harder it’s becoming to keep the weight off. Oh, how I wish for the days when I was 18 and could eat whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. Now, in my early thirties, it’s a constant struggle to make sure the weight doesn’t get lodged in one spot. This is why I’m glad there are people out there like the makers of the subscription box LoveWithFood.com that can help poor snack decision makers like me enjoy healthy alternatives without having to put too much thought into it.
Here’s the deal with LoveWithFood.com, they’re a monthly subscription snack service that delivers organic, healthy, and even gluten-free snacks straight to your door. Each month you can receive a box with 8 or more new healthy options. I received a gluten-free box and a deluxe box to try out. I shared the contents of the deluxe box on my IG Stories (@being_Melody) and I must say I was very happy with what was inside, there were over 10 items for me to choose from.
Usually, I’m a bit skeptical when it comes to subscription boxes. I’ve tried almost all of them ranging from meal based boxes to beauty and hair and sometimes I’m left feeling like there could have been more or this could have been way better. After taste testing *cough* most of the items in the Deluxe snack box I can honestly say I liked at least 80% of them. I’ll admit that toasted cheese just wasn’t my jam, but the PopCorners, um YUM!
Pricing: A regular tasting box starts at $7.99 and will get you 8+ snacks. A Deluxe box starts at $16.50 and gets you a whopping 15+ snacks. My husband and I did the math and we figured that based on the sizes and type of snacks in each box we would spend way more than $16.50 if we tried to put a box like this together ourselves. Plus, it would require us to go to the store and put some thought into it. I’m a “time is money gal,” and would rather have someone do it for me.
There is even a rewards program where you can turn in your points from ordering boxes, referring friends, and doing on-site reviews for extra snacks! If you thought that wasn’t awesome enough, a percentage of each sale goes towards helping to fight childhood hunger.
If you’re interested in a signing up for the LoveWithFood subscription box head on over to the site and check it out for yourself. If you get hooked don’t blame me!
