Review Policy

Public Relations

Being Melody is more than delighted to accept products for review from brands and public relations representatives. Per FTC law all products that are received to review for sponsored or paid advertorial purposes will be clearly disclosed.

Receipt of a product, solicited or unsolicited, does not mean that we have entered into a contract in which publishing an editorial review is mandatory. This includes product review, Face of the Day, Nail of the Day, Product Recommendations, or even mention of the product.

All reviews published on Being Melody are done based on unbiased assessments of the product.  Therefore, there is no guarantee that PR provided products will receive a positive review. In addition, no content will be forwarded to PR for pre-approval before publishing unless otherwise agreed upon. Being Melody also holds the right to not publish a review based on inadequate product sample or size of product provided being inadequate for for intended purpose.

Brands that impose on said limitations will not be accepted for product reviews, but the option for sponsored posting, for a fee, will be available.

Editorial timeline is 4-6 weeks after receipt of product. Please allow enough time for hair and skin care products for a true assessment to be made.

Advertorial and Sponsored Post

Being Melody occasionally includes compensated advertorial or sponsored posts. All such posts are disclosed as being sponsored or advertorial in the post. Please contact me for rates.

Receipt of Product Non-Contractual

All products received are deemed to be gifts/commercial samples that do not form a contract for review and are not deemed to be compensation for any content that is written.
